Tlaloc
Street ArtSpray Paint
The Mesoamerican rain deity reimagined in acid colour on a corner wall in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico, on the Riviera Maya. Tláloc was the god of rain and fertility for the Aztecs, and here the mask keeps the goggle eyes and fangs of the original iconography but is sprayed in greens, magentas and blues, 2.5 by 2.5 metres, on a turquoise building in the middle of the street.
